Qeema Sabzi is a traditional and flavorful Indian dish made with minced meat (qeema) and a variety of vegetables. Ingredients

For the Qeema (Minced Meat)

  • 500g minced meat (chicken, beef, or lamb)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or mustard oil)
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

For the Vegetables

  • 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 large potato, diced
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers (capsicum), diced (optional)
  • 1/2 cup green beans, chopped

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

1.     Wash and drain the minced meat properly.

2.     Chop all vegetables and set them aside.

Step 2: Cook the Qeema

1.     Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

2.     Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

3.     Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

4.     Stir in ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until the raw smell disappears.

5.     Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and oil starts to separate.

6.     Mix in turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir well.

7.     Add minced meat and cook on medium heat until it changes color and releases its juices.

8.     Stir continuously for about 8-10 minutes, allowing the meat to brown evenly.

Step 3: Add Vegetables

1.     Add the chopped potatoes, carrots, peas, bell peppers, and green beans.

2.     Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes, letting the vegetables absorb the flavors.

3.     Pour in 1/2 cup of water, cover the pan, and let it simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes.

4.     Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.

Step 4: Final Touches

1.     Once the vegetables are tender and the minced meat is well-cooked, sprinkle garam masala.

2.     Stir well and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.

3.     Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
